The aspiration of the Government is to make Malaysia a top choice of study destination for international students. I am glad to note that aside from providing quality education at a competitive rate, our Malaysian institutions are moving towards strengthening student support services as well as upgrading their teaching facilities to be at par with those expected of international educational institutions.

In this regard, I commend the private education institutions on their provision of living infrastructure and learning facilities, internationally-recognised courses and a conducive international student environment that ensure foreign and local students benefit from their education as well as have a comfortable and fruitful learning experience.

On our part, the Government provides a politically and socially stable environment and the Ministry of Higher Education provides the monitoring and checking to assure students of the quality and reliability of Malaysian higher education.

I am heartened to note that Direct Study Malaysia (DSM) has played a complementary role to the Government's efforts to promote education locally and globally. DSM's services are remarkable in helping us promote our excellent opportunities, in the private sector.

I would like to congratulate DSM for their unique and innovative services, which responsibly guides international students in their quest for quality higher education in Malaysia.
